Flagship Planner Maintenance

Each Day Designer goes through a careful quality check before being packaged for shipment. The following are signs of a hand-made product that occur naturally in the production process: slight bends in the binding, slubs, wrinkles and small indentions. When using a handmade planner for 365 days, it's safe to assume it will show some wear and tear. In order to keep your Day Designer looking fresh and new, we recommend the following.

GENERAL CARE

  • Keep your Day Designer in a cool, dry place -- away from liquids, or from coming in contact with other surfaces that may damage your planner.
  • Your Day Designer cover can be wiped clean with a soft cloth.
  • Only close your Day Designer from front to back. Please refrain from closing back to front, or both sides toward the middle. Doing so may cause the binding to twist and separate which may result in unrepairable damage to the pages/cover.
  • Never lift it from a single side. If you are carrying your planner open, be sure to support it with two hands, one on each side.
  • If you plan on taking your Day Designer with you, ensure the binding does not come in contact with items that may cause it to get caught or snag. Consider protecting your planner before putting it in your tote.
Special note for the gold foil products: As with any gold-foiled product, you will see flaking and discoloration throughout the year. Be extra careful when putting your gold foil cover in contact with other surfaces, or wiping it clean to prevent additional flaking.

REPLACING YOUR COVER

If you are finding that your cover has become detached from your Flagship planner over time with use or mishandling, we have a quick fix to share with you. This may mean that your binding has simply stretched apart. Here's all you need to do!

To Replace Back Cover Only...
  1. Flip back cover to the front of the Day Designer.
  2. Lay Day Designer down, with covers face down.
  3. The seam of the binding should now be facing you.
  4. If needed to complete Step 5, spread the two seams apart so there is 1/4 inch of space between the seams of the binding. Otherwise, omit this step!
  5. Put the back cover in place on the binding (the solid inner lining will be facing you).
  6. Gently squeeze the binding seam back together. The two seams should almost touch each other.
To Replace Front Cover or Both Covers...
  1. Flip back cover to the front of the Day Designer.
  2. Lay Day Designer down, with covers face down.
  3. The seam of the binding should now be facing you.
  4. Spread the two seams of the binding apart so there is a 1/4 inch of space between the seams of the binding.
  5. Remove the front & back covers.
  6. Place the front cover on the binding (the Day Designer logo should be facing you).
  7. Next place the back cover on the binding (the solid inner lining will be facing you).
  8. Gently squeeze the binding seam back together. The two seams should almost touch each other.
After completing these simple steps, your Day Designer should be back in proper working condition!
